We had the honour of coming up with the concept and execution of the New Year’s Eve party for the Czech branch of Microsoft. We started with a simple contrast which offered itself in the software company – to build everything, at least for that one fun night, on purely analogue experiences. We called the event This Connection, and chose an amazing location almost made for our idea – Sacre Coeur, a deconsecrated church in Smíchov. By its deconsecration, it lost its connectivity to the Church, and for our purpose excellently symbolised a disconnection from the digital world. Even the entire evening’s programme was built on analogue activities and experiences, such as for example a Microsoft photowall imitating the Facebook wall. The evening’s musical component was provided by tried and tested DJs N’zym (with guest guitarist Lukáš Chromek), Forrest Pine and Ondrash. For a midnight surprise, a spectacular laser show symbolically divided the old year from the new with a slicing light.
